Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover (All Bright)

Picked this up together with the All Bright face wash from the same line. The face wash impressed me a lot, so I had pretty high hopes for this.

I really like dual-phase make up removers as they are the most effective products at dissolving my hardcore, waterproof Japanese mascaras (and other intense eye makeup). Most drugstore brands have only recently caught up with producing these dual-phase removers, this being one of the cheapest I've encountered so far. I've bought the legendary Lancome Bi-Facil before, but always felt it incredibly spendy as 150ml is a piddly amount of eye makeup remover (as I use it quite generously to avoid having to rub and tug at my sensitive eye area) for a whopping >£20 price tag.

Texture

The formula comes as a half oil, half watery make up remover that you shake well before use. In comparison to the Lancome Bi-Facil, the oil on this doesn't break into as small/fine bubbles when mixing with the watery section, and the resulting mix is a tiny tiny bit thicker/ oilier than the Bi-facil. However, I personally feel this is negligible, and you'd probably only notice the difference if your eyelids have the "Princess and the Pea" syndrome.

Performance

Is pretty much identical to the Lancome Bi-facil. Dissolves and removes my waterproof mascara very well. Did not sting my eyes or cause any clouding. Since it's so economical, I don't feel the need to be stingy with the product and as a result I don't have to tug and rub at my eyes. Like the face wash from the same range, this is a solidly performing eye makeup remover at a very economical price.

Would thoroughly recommend this, especially if you're on a budget. Any money you save can be put towards nice food, a good serum or a shiny new handbag!
