REVIEW: Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Waterproof Type

10:24 pm

In my previous post, I talked about how disappointing the Fairy Drops Platinum Mascara Film Type was, so I was slightly apprehensive that I may have thrown another £21 down the drain with the waterproof type. Lucky for me, it was not so!

is a solid metallic pink tube, with white designs all over. Feels quite weighty and nice to hold.

is the same as the Film Type, a bristly affair that is clumped in 3 oval sphere shapes in an arc. I notice this brush does have a tendency to clump my lashes towards the end when I apply many coats, forming triangular, dolly-style lashes (which are not unappealing, but may not be for you if you like separated / defined lashes).

is impressive. This gave me the same result as my HG Majolica Majorca Lash Expander. It held the curl really well, only smudged a tiny bit at the end of a long work day, is waterproof, gave length and volume. I've also included a picture I piled on the layers of mascara for a dramatic Twiggy effect. Like the Majolica Lash Expander, this is very long wearing/ stubborn, and can only be removed with a cleansing oil or those dual-phase eye makeup removers like Lancome Bi-Facil.

REPURCHASE? No. Not for any bad reason, I really like this mascara. However I don't really fancy spending more than £20 repeatedly on mascaras, when my £13 HG Majolica one performs so well!

RECOMMEND? Yes. Especially if you have stick straight AZN eyelashes, or you're tired of smudgy, runny mascara, and don't mind spending on a high-end priced mascara. This holds curl, provides nice length and volume.
