Bioderma Crealine H20 Makeup Remover

Picked this up on a whim, after seeing esteemed makeup artist Lisa Eldridge talk about how much she loves this super gentle eye makeup remover. I'm always on a lookout for a good makeup remover to pit against my HG (super stubborn) mascara Majolica Majorca Lash Expander!

Packaging

is a simple, lightweight but sturdy feeling bottle with a flip top, which I like. Eminently practical.

Texture

feels (and looks) exactly like water. There is a slight scent (undiscernible, but it doesn't smell like "nothing") and a slightly silkier feeling to the liquid.

Performance

is half-half, for me personally. On one hand, this did not remove my stubborn waterproof mascara (disclaimer: I do use VERY hardcore mascara). I've tried it against the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander, Fairy Drops Scandal Queen waterproof mascara and the Maybelline Illegal Lengths waterproof.

This did not budge the Majolica nor the Fairy Drops, and made a weak attempt at the Maybelline. This is after I followed the methods shown by Lisa Eldridge and generously soaked the cotton pad and sandwiched my eyelashes between pads, leaving them on to soak and dissolve makeup before gently sliding pad off. Even vigorous repeated wiping didn't work.

On the other hand, this did remove all other eye makeup, and definitely fufilled the sensitive, hypoallergenic claims. There was no stinging, burning or any kind of irritation when I removed my eye and face makeup with this. Also, it did not leave my skin feeling stripped dry or oily.

Repurchase? Maybe. This was nice, but it just doesn't work on my mascara. I don't fancy having an extra step in my beauty routine, and currently I'm using this to remove any traces of leftover makeup after an oil cleanse. I might repurchase in the future if I have space on my bathroom counter for another bottle of stuff!

Recommend? Yes. Not everyone wears crazy hardcore waterproof Japanese mascaras like I do, and if you're after a very gentle, non greasy/oily make up remover, give this a go.
